Aprils here and with it comes those first waves of migratory summer fish. We managed to make it out on Saturday the 23rd and had flat seas with warm sunny weather. Played around on the water before finally putting down our lines at 2:00pm before a 4:30 low tide. Managed to bang off our 4 fish limit in under two hours at gerald island on the inside. 150-170 feet near bottom using small 3 inch green/chrome and splatterback hootchie. 3 small feeders and a mature migratory teener.

As a side note the prawning is said to have completely died.

nice Kelly!
Haven't fished the Gerald area since the early 90's...gonna have to head up there and give it a try one of these days.
The area hotspots growing up were east side of Douglas, south end of Yeo (sp?) and the reef between Douglas and Ballenas...anyone fish there anymore or did the good fishing leave with the coho?

Yeo is in an RCA now but the reef off douglas is still open. It definately still holds fish but i havent really fished it much as its pretty small and seems difficult to fish. I will defininately try it out this summer and i bet its a great spot to jig for springs. Give me a shout if you come up.
